Wow! This is insightful. I think this quote is trying to say that you can't just be like, "Oh. I'm not in the mood to do (insert word here) so I just won't do it." You have to put that attitude aside and try to do what you have to do. You can't just turn your brain on and off. You need to have it on all the time so you can be alert of what's going on, instead of slugging through life. Think about it for a minute, if you go through life saying or I'll do that later, nothing will ever get done. What if Abraham Lincoln had that procrastinating mentality? What if Rutherford B. Hayes had that mentality? What about George Washington? or Benjamin Franklin? Our country, and world would be wayy different, quite possibly for the worst.

I agree with this. In my own example I can describe it in a way where I am in the basketball game I'm trying very hard but my shot is not going in for me. I am having a bad game but I continue to persevere and keep going no matter what is going on. Finally since I kept going my shot starts falling for me when my team really needs it and since I kept running over that hill never stopping I end up leading the team to victory. This just saying if you keep going at something never giving up on your goal it should be your destiny to pass and live your dreams.
I guess this quote means when you are not able to do something you try and try until you can. Like when you are not good in something you practice to be better at it
