I was over my friends house. When i felt it, I got up and my friend automatically got her ipod and her laptop and stood under the door frame. I had no idea where to go so i just stood there and laughed. No i dont think my friends family was prepared. The value of being prepared is that you always know that you are going to have something incase something huge happens. =]
I was in my moms bed room watching tv and I got up and went to a door because my mom told me that the safest place to be is either under a sturdy table,bed, chair or at a door frame. I wasn't scared but I wanted it to be over. I thought it was fun because I was shaking all around my house. I think I was partially prepared. I know what to do and how to survive but I don't have water bottles and canned food ready for that. Dying is the main consequence of not being prepared
i was laying down on my couch in my gaming room when the earthquake was happening. I was about to go to sleep and then the earthquake happened and i did nonething, it felt like a massage chair though. I am prepare for an earthquake because my parents bought alot of stuff. If no one is prepare, they have nothing to survive on.

I was in my aunt's my house with four other girls. I immediatley grabbed my cousin, Becky and her neighbor, Liz. We ran to her room to get my other cousin, Vivis, and her cousin, Emely. We all stayed huddled and covered our heads. I know what to do when there's an earthquake, but it happened so quickly that I just freaked. If you're prepared for a diaster you're less likely to have something fall on you or hurt you. If you're not prepared, you're more likely to be hurt, either broken bones, or head damage, or worse.
i was at my aunts house making myself a torta w/ my sister ,my mom, and my aunt until the ground was shaking thats when i didnt know what to do so i got under the door frame =] i was not prepared and i think you should be prepared in case of another disaster so that you can be safe & survive in case something happens .

I was in my room hearing music and then everything was shacking, i was just watching above me in case the fan fell then i saw my dog come next to me, i was not prepared at all. I was at a house party when the earthquake occured. I was shocked and it messed up my flow of eating cake. I was by a door so I guess so. The value is that you won't die. The consequence is that you can die, the house can fall on you.

I was at home in the kitchen making my noodles. When it happen I got scared becuase I thought everything was going to fall in stuff. So I just stayed calmed and when it was over I went in my mom room to see if she was ok. Then after it was over like 3 minutes later it was an 3 second aftershock. Yes im not that prepared for the next one but I know all the stuff I have to do if it was another one. This was the longest earthquake I ever experienced in my life. The shortest one was like 4 seconds , then this one was like 15 seconds .
when the earthquake happened was outside with my cousins riding my bike. i was kind of surprised and scared because i did not know what to do. i was not prepared at first but know i am for the next earthquake.if you not prepared you can be engered bad or when the power want work no more.
i was at home pressing my hair, when i heard the rumbling i got scared, then when eevyrthing started shaking i got scared and threw down the flat iron then ran in the doorway. i was definately not prepared. the value would be that you wont die because you had food water and flashlights. the consequence could be many different things like being killed by something falling on you, or not having any food.

i think we are not pepared enough in case of a severe earthquake.

I Was in my kitchen sitting in a chair watching the amytiville horror from my brothers laptop, making a maruchan. & the earthquake occured during the scarriest part of the movie, before it happened my dog ran to me & started barking everywhere, then i got him, yelled at my brother get out, & i ran around in circles outside. :) the rest of my family was already outside, & i noticed i didnt grab any technical equipment, i only grabbed my dog & ran outside, of course i made sure everyone was out before me, i was on the 2nd floor of my house.i guess i was prepared, always prepared.
during the earthquake i was at my friends house baking cupcakes. at first i was like this is pretty tight but my friend got kindascareed becasue of how she expericend it before. wed be prepared since the door was like a few feet from us so we couldve ran out.

I was in my room on my bed when the earthquake occured. I got so scared, i felt like if my heart was going to pop out, i felt like crying. No, i dont think i was prepared in case it was more severe. I dont know what the consequence could be for not being prepared. BUT damnn i litterally thought the world was gonna end.
i was in my room when the earthquake occured; my mom was in the bathroom talking to my aunt and washing her teeth; my dad was downstairs watching tee.veee on the reclainer of the couch! when the earthquake started i felt like if it was the end and that it was all over! my reaction was that i stood up from my chair and i ran to the bathroom with my mom and the earthquake was so strong that it closed the bathroom door and i fell to the door and tried to open it and when my mom opened it at the same time i fell and hurt my head on the sink! The we ran downstair's with my puppy and we were close to the door and then waited then my mom and i went back upstairs to get our shoes and my cellphone; and thats when the aftershock happend and i panicked once again; hahaha i could'nt walk at all i panicked realy bad since i had never expirienced an earthquake like that one!
ummmmmm im not realy sure if we where prepared or not! i think it's important to be prepared because we cant predict when an earthquake would come;! Serious damage can happen if were not ready; so when i get home today im going to go pack food!

well i was barly going to read the book for english class and then right when i got comfortable on my bed i felt everything shake and i got super scared because my house is 2 floors and everything started to shake and then i started to run down stairs and onto my back yard because there was nothing that can fall on top of me there...i was not prepaired and i think it is very important to be prepaird. if your not prepaired then you might not survive a big eartherquake

Being prepared for natural diasters like this is very beneficial to your safety and health. Not being prepared can higher your chances of dying.

I was in the kitchen mixing dry oatmeal with honey. My reaction was to run under the door thingy in the living room & my brother was like Oh Shit! He looked scared& he's supposed to be all big&bad so I started laughing. No, I wasn't prepared in case it was more severe than it was. I forgot to grab my cell phone for some reason =/ & This glass full of some stuff fell & almost hit me :(

well i was in my room listening to music on my ps3 and my room started shaking hard.i couldn't say i wasn't prepared but i could have managed if it was more severe. the value of being prepared is staying alive without any injuries. you can lose your life or get severely injured.

I was at my little cousins birthday party and I was taking care of my little nephew. I was watching television and my nephew wasjust playing his cars. THen i just felt the couch jump up and down and all the little decorations on the t.v. were dropping and i just say earthquake. I got grab my little nephew and run under the dining room table. Evryone was outside shouting and whatnot. I was a bit scared but i was just glad my little nephew was not harmed. If the earth hurt him, I wouldv'e taken off my shoe and do damage!

well when the earthquake occured i was in the living room reading my book and watching television with the rest of my 3sisters and making cookies(:.... when the earthquake occured i was at my house. i was walking out of my bathroom and i suddenly feel shaking and i thought it was me until i feel it harder and more violant that i noticed it was an earthquake. my reaction was that i was screaming and ran to the doorway of my little brothers room. no actually i wasn't prepared at all although i would now. the value of being prepared is that it can save our lives later when everything. the consequences of not having is that we will suffer if everything destoys.
When the earthquake occurred I was in my room typing something up... and my little sister was in the room also. My little sister ran under the bed, but I coudn't help but laugh b/c it wasn't a big one. My family is really natural disaster prepared they have kits and emergency stored things. Oh! and after the earthquake I called my bby Karen and I was talking to her during the after shock and she was screaming and I was just laughing at her. That was my favorite part :]]

I was watching tv and all of a sudden the house started to shake. I got up and stood under the door frame. I was not prepared for a massive earthquake. If I was prepared I would of had a chance to servive the massive earthquake. the conseqeunces of not being prepared are not having water supply, not having food supply, and not having a flashlight at night.

When the earthquake began, I was reading on my bed. The first thing I did was grab my bird and run outside. My cousins were playing video games and they jumped and ran to stand in the middle of the room under the fan, they're lucky it didn't fall. The TV almost fell, I was waiting for it, but it didn't happen, and I was disappointed. If it was more severe, I would not have been prepared. I probably would've died or been in a lot of pain under the collapsed house. The value of being prepared is you get to live to see others die..yay. The consequence is injury, you could lose an arm or something.

When the earthquake hit I was at my grandma's house. My reaction was...... Yes I was prepared in case it wass more severe than it was. The value of being prepared is that you may ever know when a earthquake might hit.The consequence of not being prepared is that when a earthquake hits then people will panake.
i was in my bed talking on the phone then out of no where the earthquake came and i almost fell on the floor. Then it was over and me and my friend started laughing. yes we were prepared. the consequences of not being prepared is u can lose your life, or have no food.
