They're catchy. They have meaning and feeling behind them. They help sell the product because subconciously the consumer thinks that the product is as good as the commercial makes it look. In business, the second most important thing is advertising.

Geico, GuitarHero: Metallica, Stride, Beef Jerky, Burger King.
They're not really my favorite, they're just the ones I remember off the top of my head. Commercials help sell the product because they catch people's attention, and sometimes make them want whatever is being advertised. They raise awareness to people who might never have heard of the product. Advertising is probably the most important thing a business needs to be successful, because more people are aware of their business. If no one knows about them, they won't be successful.
