i agree wit this quote because some tridtions because will split apart a family because some people in the family dont like the tridition that they do.
i think that this is true because family traditions are something special that a family does 2 recognize who they r. the families tradition mite be somethin that makes them feel safe. some ppl wont understand their tradtitions because they mite be use to somethin else.
Family traditions counter alienation and confusion. They help us define who we are; they provide something steady, reliable and safe in a confusing world.
I don't really understand what this quote means but I guess it means that families have certain ways of doing things. Their traditions are to benefit you in the long run. The benefit you because they teach you a lesson or prepare you for the real world as you grow up. It may seem confusing to us because we don't understand why families do what they do to keep us safe or have us on lockdown sometimes. But it just simply means that they're caring for us because they love us.
um this quote is true because a lot of tradition that people celebrate are different and odd based on other peoples perspective. So other people might not embrase the traditions and tend to alienate those people.
i think that this is true because every family has their own tradition. and that makes them different from any other family an that is like alienation. also confusion may be a part of that because the things that famiies do. are confusing and wierd to others because the other families do different things.also the things that they provide is true because it is in their confusing world because that is their tradition.
Family traditions counter alienation and confusion. They help us define who we are; they provide something steady, reliable and safe in a confusing world.

I agree with this qoute because our family tradition define who we are. Family traditions is different with each different family. They make up who you are and make you unique.
well its true baecaue from where ever you come your always going to be safe from the anytihng at ome. this is because thats where your culture is and where nothing can harm you. like the outside world there are many things that confuse people from other countries but when they are around people and things they know they feel comfortable and safe. so the things is that you are always safe from anything when your at haome.
Family traditions counter alienation and confusion. They help us define who we are; they provide something steady, reliable and safe in a confusing world.
i dont understand this quote!!!!!! but from what i do understand this quote is true because every family have their own tradition and different customs to how they do stuff in family.
Family traditions counter alienation and confusion. They help us define who we are; they provide something steady, reliable and safe in a confusing world.
I think I agree with this quote because in family traditions they do help us define who we are. Sometimes in family traditions you dont get why they do these traditions but is because they care and they want to help you to figure out who you really are. Some traditions are helpful and safe. Some people might not agree with the traditions that their family do.Thats what i understand i really dont get it.
I think that it means that your family traditions cannot be tooken away from you. They are unalienable. They also cannot be subject to confusion. They are the only things that are not confusing in this world.

it is true i agree totally because you need family to survive well in this world of ours with out it you do not have the essential.
from what i understood holidays are like little party`s that bring our families toughether. It'[s the littlest things that count. so if we stay close tougheter we will never be seperated
Family traditions counter alienation and confusion. They help us define who we are; they provide something steady, reliable and safe in a confusing world.
i think this is true because traditions rarely change. They help us find out about our past and help us stay ourselves. I believe thats something thats gonna help us fight against alienation.i think that the world is changing rapidly and we have to learn t deal with it and tradition is something that can help us.for 3example people tend to change really fast because maybe they dont have traditions or anything like that but people that stay the same and dont follow the flow are the people that have traditions and know what to do. so i think that tradition is really important for the world to exceed and make its people better persons.
From what I understand this quote is true. It is true becuase certain holidays and family traditions do bring families closer together. They define who we are and allow they do allow us to feel safe around our families. Family traditions counter alienation becuase with family traditions they allow familiyes to be together instead of apart.
Family traditions counter alienation and confusion. They help us define who we are; they provide something steady, reliable and safe in a confusing world.

I think this qoute is true. I agrre to this quote because traditions can help you avoid confusion but sometimes traditions cannot always be the right thing. For example, people do not need to follow all the traditions. They should know if a tradition what they are doing is reasonalble or not. Like a bad tradition would be a story we read about called the lottery. So, for the most part tradition can help you not be confused in this world.
Family traditions counter alienation and confusion. They help us define who we are; they provide something steady, reliable and safe in a confusing world.
iAGREE WIT THIS QUOTE BECAUSE some triditions do seperate friends or bestfriends this is a confusing world you know what Im saying.

I dont really know what this quote means but I think it means or what its trying to say is that in holidays it brings more families together and also its true because every family has their own tradition and some will split apart a family because sometimes some people in their family doesnt like the tradition they do.
Family traditions counter alienation and confusion. They help us define who we are; they provide something steady, reliable and safe in a confusing world.
i think that this quote is right because there are differnt family that have differnt traditions.
Family traditions counter alienation and confusion. They help us define who we are; they provide something steady, reliable and safe in a confusing world. FAmily traditiojns shows were you come from and who you are. My family tradition are celebrating our religion holidays such as Thanksgiving,Christmas,Easter,Memorial,Labor, and Veterans day. I think that family traditions help you to learn about yor family more and spend time with them.
FAmily is very important. It depends though some people may not like there family. If you have a good family is one you can depend on. A family should support you and make you feel safe and happy. Thats why with traditon you can gather and stop poeple from drifting apart. If you guys gather then you can be able to stay together and all of you will be unitted and you can be your self.
Family traditions counter alienation and confusion. They help us define who we are; they provide something steady, reliable and safe in a confusing world.
I AGREE WITH THIS QUOTE BECAUSE YOU DO NEED TRADTIONS THEY HELP US LEARD ABOUT WHO WE REALLY ARE AND SPLITTING APART AS A FAMILY OR WHUTEVEWR IS HARD AND THEY MIGHT NOT FEEL THE SAME AS YOU DO ABOUT IT. YOU CAN RELY ON YOUR FAMILY TO BE THERE NOT ALL THE TIME BUT WHEN THEY REALLY NEED YOU. PROVIDE SAFETY IN THIS CONFUSING WORLD..THAT MEANS WE HAVE SOMEBODY OR SOMETHING TO LOOK UP TO OR LOOK AT INSTEAD OF ALL THAT NEGATIVITY IN THE WORLD..THATS WHUT I THOUGHT WORD UP.. NAWWWWWWWWWWWTTTTTT!
I really don't get this quote but I think that this quote is saying that usually you don't celebrate things with your family. But when you celebrete traditions like Thanksgiving and Christmas you usually reunite with all your family so thats a good thing..
Family traditions counter alienation and confusion. They help us define who we are; they provide something steady, reliable and safe in a confusing world.
i really dont understand this.i guess this means that our familes have an huge impact on what we do.and how we do it
i feel like i can relate to this because my family always got my back no matter what they'll try to protect me from the world if they could but i have to grow up for my self.....it just extra love or something because they love you more than anyone else in this world ever will....i love the time that me and my family spend together because its a time that we could really bond and show eachother how much we love oneanother.....and since my grandmother died on September 17,2006 i really dont know what were going to do for thatnksgiving because usually she cooks and the whole family comes over to eat dinner....truth be told i really miss my grandmother and i wish she were here to share this thanksgiving with me...CuTi3 4 3v3r....*>(muah)<*
Family traditions counter alienation and confusion. They help us define who we are; they provide something steady, reliable and safe in a confusing world.
this quote is true because every family have their own tradition and different customs to how they do stuff. I think that this is also true because it means that families have certain ways of doing things.
FAMiLY TRADiTiONS COUNTER AlIENATiON AND CONFUSiON. THAY HELP US DEFiNE WHO ARE; THEY PROViDE SOMETHiNG STEADY, RELiABLE AND SAFE iN A CONFUSiNG WORLD.
i THiNk i AGREE WiTH THiS QUOTE BECAUSE PEOPLE HAVE DiFFERENT TRADiTiONS. OUR FAMiLY TRADiTiONS DEFiNE WHO WE ARE. SOME TRADiTiONS MAKE THE FAMiLY GET TOGETHER. BUT OTHER TRADiTiONS DO SEPERATE FRiENDS AND FAMiLY.
Family traditions counter alienation and confusion. They help us define who we are; they provide something steady, reliable and safe in a confusing world.
I think this quote is true becuase everyy tradition is different and almost nobody does the same thing ever year or when there is special events. That is what makes everyy person or familyy different.Well that is what I think this quote means.
I feel I can relate to his because my family is always there for me when I need them no matter what.If my family and I were to get into it with one another we will still love each other no matter what.My family and I will not let no hate get into our family relationship. Some family members are apart because of hate. Some of my family members are not talking but that doesn't mean that the whole family is going to dislike everyone just because of one sitation. That is not how my family and I get down we don't roll that way and plus my uncle is the pastor of our church and my auntie is the first lady and they will try to get everyone back together so there will be no hate in the family.Which is a good thing for all of us because right now everything is just all over the place which is not a good thing.
WELL FAMILY TRADITIONS SHAPE US WHO WE ARE BECAUSE IT JUST DOES... FOR EXAMPLE WHEN WE GO HOME WE ACT LIKE OURSELVES... IN SCHOOL YOU DONT ACT LIKE YOURSELF BECAUSE YOU HAVE A REPUTATION AND YOU JUST CAN'T ACT YOURSELF BECAUSE YOU WILL BE EMBERRASSED... FAMILY TRADITIONS SUCH AS CHRISTMAS, THANKSGIVING, AND HALOOWEEEEN... bRING YOU CLOSER TO YOUR FAMILY BECAUSE USUALY DURING THIS TIME YOU SEE YOUR FAMILY AND YOU ENJOY IT BECAUSE YOU NEVER SEE EACH OTHER... FAMILY TRADITIONNS SHAPE WHO YOU ARE...
Family traditions counter alienation and confusion. They help us define who we are; they provide something steady, reliable and safe in a confusing world.
I agree with this quote because in family traditions they help us figure out who we really are. Also Holidays and family traditions help us bring the family closer. That is what I think it means.
Family traditions counter alienation and confusion. They help us define who we are; they provide something steady, reliable and safe in a confusing world.
I KIND OF AGREE WITH THIS QUOTE WHEN IT SAYS YOUR FAMILY HELPS YOU DEFINE WHO YOU ARE. I AGREE WITH THIS PART BECAUSE THE PEOPLE WHO RISE YOU TEACH YOU EVERYTHING YOU KNOW.THEY SHAPE YOU CREATE YOU MAKE YOU WHO YOU ARE. WHETHER YOU LISTEN TO THEM WHEN THEY TELL YOU WHAT THEY WANT YOU TO BE OR NOT. AND THEY ARE RELIABLE BECAUSE ITS YOUR FAMILY. NO MATTER IF YALL FIGHTING OR NOT IF YOU REALLY NEED THEM THE SHOULD BE THERE.THERE'RE THERE TO PROTECT WHEN EVERYONE ELSE LET YOU DOWN YOUR FAMILY IS ALWAY THERE TO FALL BACK.
Family traditions counter alienation and confusion. They help us define who we are; they provide something steady, reliable and safe in a confusing world.
I THINK THIS JOURNAL MEANS THAT THE TRADITIONS MAKE US WHO WE ARE BECAUSE TRADITIONS SHOW HOW WE THINK AND IN WHAT WE BELIVE IN. ALSO TRADITION CAN HELP FAMILIES GET TOGETHER AND ALSO MORE UNITED WITH EACH OTHER.TRADITION CAN ALSO SHOW HOW MUCH THE FAMILY CARES ABOUT EACH OTHER. A CERTAIN PEOPLES TRADITION CAN BE DUMB FOR CERTAIN PEOPLE BUT TO YOU AND TO YOUR FAMILY IT CAN BE ONE OF YOUR MOST IMPORTANT TRADITION THAT YOU HAVE, AND THAT PERSON MIGHT NOT UNDERSTAND THE MEANING OF THAT TRADITION. I ALSO THINK THAT SOME TRADITION CAN SEPARATE PEOPLE OR IT CAN SEPERATE FAMILIES. BECAUSE SOME PEOPLE MIGHT NOT THINK THAT THE TRADITION IS NOT THAT IMPORTANT AND THE OTHER PERSON MIGHT THINKK A DIFFERENT WAY ABOUT THAT TRADITION.
Family traditions counter alienation and confusion. They help us define who we are; they provide something steady, reliable and safe in a confusing world.

I think this quote is trying to mean that our family tradtions help us find out who were really are and help us form who we truly are and no fake person we think we are.Our tradition makes us feel safe and its something we can Count on I guess...Im kinda Confused."/ T&Y.
The family tradition is when you special occasion and all the family gather together to celebrate like on thanks giving Christmas and New Year and it sometime represents your cultures I think this is what is mean.

FROM WHAT I UNDERSTAND IT SAYS THAT YOU NEED TRADITIONS TO STAY AS A FAMILY.I AGREE WITH IT BUT THEN I DONT BECAUSE IT SAYING THAT YOU NEED TRADITIONS SO OTHER PEOLPLE WONT FEEL ALIENATED FROM THE FAMILY BUT MY FAMILY DONT HAVE ANY TRADITIONS BECAUSE WE LIVR ALL OVER THE WORLD AND IT TAKES TO LONG TO TRY AND TRACK DOWN ALL THOSE PEOPLE. SO IN SOME WAY I DONTBTHINK YOU NEED A TRADITION TO STAY AS A FAMILY BECAUSE MY FAMILY IS STILL A FAMILY EVEN THOUGH WE DONT HAVE ANY TRADITIONS.AND THEN I DO AGREE WITH IT BECAUSE SOME PEOPLE HAVE TO HAVE TRADITIONS TO STAY CLOSE I THINK IF MY FAMILY HAS TRADITION WE COULD BE CLOSER THAN WE ARE.SO THAT IS WHAT I THINK OF THIS QUOTE.
Family traditions counter alienation and confusion. They help us define who we are; they provide something steady, reliable and safe in a confusing world. -SUSAN LIEBERMAN, New Traditions
I guess I kind of agree with this quote because my family traditions kind of do define who we are. It shows how your family is when you get together. Sometimes the family that comes from out of town do feel alienated because they don't know everyone or that well. You usually do feel safe around family when you have family gatherings even if you dont know them thatwell. This is what I think as far as my understanding of this quote.
Family traditions counter alienation and confusion. They help us define who we are; they provide something steady, reliable and safe in a confusing world.
SUSAN LIEBERMAN, New Traditions When i talk to my grandma we talk to her alot. And my cousin who live out here they get mad because i talk alot and my cousin think that im trying to get away from them and she thinks it is all good. and i be wouldering what they be thinking about when i be talking about when im talking to my grandma. Some times they be looking at me crazy and it be funny. I be laughin at them because they look like they are constupated( i think that how it spelled) But I think they thinki trying to ditch them. I think this quote is true cause all the people come from deferent parts of the world and the traditions identify all the people and that represents your culture. And some traditions can de diferent or weird and that make your family , country, so especial so people need to be glad of what they are.
Family traditions counter alienation and confusion. They help us define who we are; they provide something steady, reliable and safe in a confusing world.
I believe that this quote is true. I believe that it is true because every family has something that they do that makes them special and different from other families. Also confusion may be a part of that because the things that famiies do are confusing and wierd to others because the other families do different things.Like the outside world there are many things that confuse people from other countries but when they are around people and things they know they feel comfortable and safe.
Yes i agree because families do counter alienation and confusion because your family means there related to you and they have the same characteristics so your family is the same as you. Basically they can't judge you by their same characteristics because there related so why would you. Also it counters confusion because since basically you and your family know the samew language and know the things you like and what you would expect then there would no confusion instead like if someone is asking you what you would like but you would have to tell that person, but your family already knows so its more clearer with your family.
I agree with this quote because your family always tries to help eachother out in the time of need and to keep your head straight. For ex: You may sag your pants in public, but when you go to your grandparents house you would want to pull your pants up.
Family traditions counter alienation and confusion. They help us define who we are; they provide something steady, reliable and safe in a confusing world.
This is making my head hurt. I dont understand. =/

i agree our traditions says who we are. our traditions make us different from other people. They help us find out about our past and help us stay ourselves. It shows how your family is when you get together. family traditions shows where you come from and who you are.
I think that this quote means that family traditions help shape you who you are by showing you or teaching you things to how to use your life. But sometimes family traditions can confuse you because you can be taught things in a certain way, and when you encounter what they teach you to do, it might be different to what you were taught so it may cause confusion. An example might be when your parents tell you that in their country they do things in a certain way and then you go do things in a different way the way you have been seeing the people that surround you do it.

I agree with some parts the quote like They help us define who we are; they provide something steady, because families do think to recongize who they are and where they come from. But being alienation is not really cool cus they make you feel super different because your changing to do something else
I don't really understand what this quote means but ill take a guess at it. I think it means is having family traditions can be alienated because I know this from my own experience because we use to do a Christmas trimming when me and my family all come together at my grandmother's house and we bring ornaments that represent anybody who has past on in our family so we all have to get up and say something of what your ornament stands for. and we stopped doing it for some reason I don't know why but thats my families alienation and confusion.
Family traditions counter alienation and confusion. They help us define who we are; they provide something steady, reliable and safe in a confusing world.
SUSAN LIEBERMAN, New Traditions
I guess this is a quote and it's kind of true.I partially agree with this quote because if somone has their own family tradition they won't just easily accept a new one. Some people disrespect other people's tradition just because they don't know it. But traditions like a family reunion and thanksgiving get- together everybody will like it.
Family traditions counter alienation and confusion. They help us define who we are; they provide something steady, reliable and safe in a confusing world.
SUSAN LIEBERMAN, New Traditions
i agree with this quote because family traditions are the counter to alienataion and confusion.when you have a tradition you have a periodic meeting or gathering. this prevents people from losing contact with people far away. traditions also help stop confusion by having everyone know where people are going. yearly you will countinue to go to one place and everyone knows it.since a tradition is something we do and what we do define who we are then are traditions make up who we are.this way familys are together during certain days of the year like holidays.
Family traditions counter alienation and confusion. They help us define who we are; they provide something steady, reliable and safe in a confusing world.
I think this is trun because there is alienation and confusion in some family traditions. They do help us define who we are because they show you how you are around your family. I does provide steady, reliable and safe in the confuseing world because your family keeps you safe and your family is reliable
Family traditions counter alienation and confusion. They help us define who we are; they provide something steady, reliable and safe in a confusing world.
I AGREE WITH THIS STATEMENT BECAUSE FAMILY CAN HELP YOU WITH ANY THING YOU ARE CONFUSED WITH.EITHER WERE YOUR FAMILY COMES FROM OR SOMETHING ELSE.LATER!!!!!!!!!

The only part I understand is THe part of Family tradition. DO you not understand what I am saying. It is if Me Nayeli and Walter are friends and we lisen to the same genre af music then I start lisining to another kind of music. I am going to be alienation

I don't really understand what this quote means but I guess it means that every family has differnt ways of doing things and they feel and act differnt with differnt family members? I think its an example of that is, my family in Texas they love to dance and their really loud. But that doesnt define who i am. I think im more like my family from spain they are closer and know more about me and i feel safer with them. Im excited because they are comming to LA for thanksgiving.
well i think that is true because you should not make fun of people to whatever they like or listen to because what about if it was you when they are takling about you!
Family traditions counter alienation and confusion. They help us define who we are; they provide something steady, relaible and safe in a confusing world.
I agree with this quote because I felt this way before. When ever I go to Mexico for thanksgiving i feel left out because they have a different way in celebrating. Even though wew are family we do not have the same traditions.
Family traditions counter alienation and confusion. They help us define who we are; they provide something steady, reliable and safe in a confusing world.
Sometimes they do and some times they dont...it depends on the people and how they feel about the relationship...but if they are family then they sould be able to work things out

This quote is true. It means that inside a family you are a part of a group and you can define yourself as part of that group. Also it means they are always there for you whenever you have troubles in this big, confusing world.
ummm this quote is kinda confusing but traditions do define who we are cuz every family has a different tradition that they do. maybe its similar to another family's tradition but different at the same time.
ry-yu-kenI think this quote means that if you dont know who you are you will be confused on what your family and ancestors did in celebrations and you wont know what you should like to do or like to eat. Every one has there own way of doing something and its good to know your families way.
I THINK THIS MEANS THAT FOR EXAMLPE WHEN MEXICANS COME OVER HERE THEY BRING TRADITIONS ALONG WITH THEM AND SOME HOW OTHER PEOPLE OF DIFFRENT ETHNICITY END OF LEARNING AND DOING IT. AN EXAMPLE CAN BE EL DIAS DE LOS MUERTOS OR TRADITION COULD BE TYPES OF FOOD AS WELL LIKE ON CHRISTAMAS ALOT OF MEXICAN PEOPLE MAKE TAMALES ON CHRISTMAS.
Family traditions counter alienation and confusion. They help us define who we are; they provide something steady, reliable and safe in a confusing world.
i agree with this quote they do help us define who we are because there are many types of traditions that each family has and that makes each family unique. i also agree with this quote because because a family does make you feel saafe in this world that we are in. and because your family is always there for you. and there are some family members that dont want to keep on following there family traditions but they are still a family.
I agree with this quote because when i go to Mexico there tradition are different. Things we do hear they dont know what is it. Also tradition help poeple to gather and stay in touch in a family. Traditions usualy happen through the same time of year every year. Thanks to this tradition are pretty steady.

Family traditions counter alienation and confusion. They help us define who we are; they provide something steady, reliable and safe in a confusing world.
ok so this kind of confuses me but since every else said yes ill say yes too =)! Families do always support you in everything you do. they are the one group that can never shunn you out because no matter what you know that they do love you. Friends can say that they love you but sometimes they may not mean it. they can say that they are always there for you but its not always true and unlike family they hurt you at the time you least expact after that they dont care anymore they blame you for everything they backstab you when you dont even talk anymore and once you think all the pain and suffering is over they strike even harder family doesnt do that unlike some peole that i know have hurt me and still are. family wont do that!!!! ok thats all!!!! ='
Family traditions counter alienation and confusion. They help us define who we are; they provide something steady, reliable and safe in a confusing world.
I'M NOT SURE BUT I THINK THIS QUOTE IS SAYING THAT LIKE YOUR FAMILY SHARES COMMON CHARACTERISTICS WITH YOU THAT OTHER PEOPLE MAY NOT UNDERSTAND AND SO THEY DISTANCE THEMSELVES FROM YOU BUT YOUR FAMILY IS THERE TO PROTECT YOU FROM THE NEGITIVITY AND SHOW YOU THAT YOU ARE NOT THAT DIFFERENT AND THAT BEING DIFFERENT IS SOMETIMES GOOD?
Family traditions counter alienation and confusion. They help us define who we are; they provide something steady, reliable and safe in a confusing world.
i think this quote it true because some families have different traditions .....there tradition might be something safe that helps there families ...it also might help you in your life it prapares you....your tradition helps you to difine yourself...but some traditions wont help people some people dont even understand what they are ..... they need help
Family traditions counter alienation and confusion. They help us define who we are; they provide something steady, reliable and safe in a confusing world.

I don't quite agree with this because I think this quote is more confusing than the world might be. I don't get this quote very well, how does our family traditions define us...and what if you can't rely on whatever that safe thing that is being provided.?
family traditions are very important to who you are and who you are as a person?! when ever you need to defin who you are as a family backround and your pack you can look at the many things yur family celeberates and stuff and like the food!
Family traditions counter alienation and confusion. They help us define who we are; they provide something steady, reliable and safe in a confusing world.
This like us kind of confusing but I am going to try...... I guess basically traditons help us define who you are as a person and as like a whole culture but ... some people might not like the things they do but that what they do.....
Well, I think this quote is trying to say that family traditions are important to help us balance our life in this confusing world. I think all families have traditions, like birthdays and thanksgiving. people who don't have traditions aren't close, and probably don't love each other.
Family traditions counter alienation and confusion. They help us define who we are; they provide something steady, reliable and safe in a confusing world
I dont really know what this quote means but I think it means or what its trying to say is that in holidays it brings more families together and also its true because every family has their own tradition and some will split apart a family because sometimes some people in their family doesnt like the tradition they do
i AGREE WiTH THiS QUOTE BECAUSE PEOPLE HAVE DiFFERENT TRADiTiONS. OUR FAMiLY TRADiTiONS DEFiNE WHO WE ARE. SOME TRADiTiONS MAKE THE FAMiLY GET TOGETHER. BUT OTHER TRADiTiONS DO SEPERATE FRiENDS AND FAMiLY...=/

I agree with this quote because your family raisees you and are always there to guide you. While at young age they can guide you in the wrong direction( gangs drugs, etc) or they can lead you the right way. Either way it has a big impact on your future.Your family can choose to be there for you mmor make you an independent individual.
Family traditions counter alienation and confusion. They help us define who we are; they provide something steady, reliable and safe in a confusing world.
I sayy this is true because there are some things that can separate people. if you do something just because someone else is doing it, that'll make them want to stop doing what they do. It's better if everyone does their own thing, and everyone won't worry about what you do because it's your own thing.

i kinda agree with this staement because u an actually counter isolation with company
Family traditions counter alienation and confusion. They help us define who we are; they provide something steady, reliable and safe in a confusing world.
I THINK THAT THIS QUOTE IS KOO AND IT'Z DA' TRUE BCUZE' PEOPLE DON'T KNOW WAT THEY'RE TRADITIONS R AND SO YEA AND THEN THEY DISCOVER IT BY BEING WITH THEIR FAMILIA AND THEIR SURROUNDINGS AND ASKING QUESTIONS THAT THEY DON'T KNOW ABOUT THEIR FAMINLY TRADITION AND THE TRU DEFINITION OF A FAMILY.... AND SOMETIMES UR EMBARASSED 4 ASKING UR FAMILY WHAT IS UR FAMILY TRADITION AND U STAYS AS A MYSTERY AND U NEVER KNOW WAT IS REALLY UR FAMILY TRADITION.
I think that what this quote is talking about is true. Family does define who we are because we get used to our customs in our every day life. They way our family acts towards us is they was we act towards other people. They do provide something steady and reliable and yet we feel safe with our family becasue we know we can rely on them.
Family tradition counter alienation and confusion. they help us define who we are; they provide something steay, realiable and safe in a confusing world.
i think this is true because traditions rarely change. Akienation is common and i dont think it will stop...everyone probably most people would stop singing if beyonce stopped lol
Family traditions counter alienation and confusion. They help us define who we are; they provide something steady, reliable and safe in a confusing world.
If the family has an ongoing tradition, then some family members will respect that and they will not alienate the family or the families tradition. This will prevent the family from separating too much to the point where they family isn't in contact with each other.
Family traditions counter alienation and confusion. They help us define who we are; they provide something steady, reliable and safe in a confusing world.
I agree with this comment because some people from the same family might do something different and the rest of the family might not want to talk to them because your different.
I dont beileve in that because not everyone has a wonderful home to go to. It all matters about what yoiu think is right or wrong you have to be the one to help your self out in life. So in this dog eat dog world you are the only help yoiu will get when you start maturing into your own person in this world.
Family traditions counter alienation and confusion. They help us define who we are; they provide something steady, reliable and safe in a confusing world.
Family counter alienation because holidays make people spend time together. It helps us not be seperated and be together. Well at least until the holiday is over. It also counters alienation becuase it brings us for the same reason. So its helpfull by bringing poeple close together for at least a short period of time.
Well i say that it is tru. because wen a family does a certaind thing/tradition the rest of them dont bother to ask why or the reason(s) for the tradition. they just do it because it's been with the family for years and they dont want to do anything that might make them look apart or be set as an outcast fromo that family because it would be really jacked up. And when you alienate you are following someone else's example/doing for sum reason. And when a family has their own tradition it defines who or what the family is. And when you are raised to beleive the reason for a radition sometimes it is safer for you to believe that than something else from the outside world. But then at the same it is isolating that person from the outside world.
Family traditions counter alienation and confusion. They help us define who we are; they provide something steady, reliable and safe in a confusing world.
this statement is true because people have different traditions and different beliefs that some people might think that their tradition is weird and they don't understand why they do the things they do in their tradition. some people might not want to do other peoples tradition because they might think that it might be something they're not used to doing and they might not like it. people have different perspectives on other peoples family tradition and on what they do.
Family traditions counter alienation and confusion. They help us define who we are; they provide something steady, reliable and safe in a confusing world.i agree wit this quote because some of my family members dont celebrate traditions because they dont believe in some of the tradition.
I think I agree with this quote because in family traditions they do help us define who we are. Even some people might not agree with the traditions that their family do.Thats what i understand i really dont get it.
Family traditions counter alienation and confusion. They help us define who we are; they provide something steady, reliable and safe in a confusing world. -This is true because family traditions are what your family does so u know ur family wouldnt hurt you. There are lots of family traditions most are good some can be bad. Traditions teach you who you are. Others mite think different about you traditions and may not agree with them. If others dont like your tradition who cares its because theirs are probly different. Traditions benifit you because they let u know what your cultures about..
Family traditions counter alienation and confusion. They help us define who we are; they provide something steady, reliable and safe in a confusing world.
well dis quote means like yea ppls trad. is differnet from other ppl hmm...when ur wit ur family memebers then u feel better and conforted and alienation is like u don't feel conforted u feel like u don't belong.

I dont really understand the quote but by what I understood I believe it is saying that family will be there with you no matter what and they will always have your back. They supposively will always support you on your decisions and through your stages of confusions when you arent sure what it is you want. When you do not know who to turn to, you will always have your family there to help you out and move forward. When you have any problems and arent quite sure who to turn to, your family would be there to help you go through them and to fix them with you or give you a push to fix them yourself. I agree with this quote but at the same time I dont because family sometimes turns on you in the worst moments and sometimes can only count on a few family members. Thats how I see it.
Family tradition counters alienation and confusion because it causes family togetherness. When you're with the family you become a more cooperative person and you feel like you're sins have been lifted. You become a more steady, reliable, and safe person to world around you. When you're with the family, you forget about all your needs and put them in away for everybody elses needs. family traditions help you find out who you really are and why you are here in this world. Each person in the family has a purpose and they become that purpose and back it up with their personality and intelligence. For example, when my family is together my brother is the smart one and knows how to use most of the technology we have at home and my mom is the worker in the house. My dad is the builder who makes everything like our houses and fixes the backyard. My uncle is the supporter/problem of our family which is the only family from my mom's side living here in California and I'm just the booksmart guy in the family and not really good with streetsmart. Our family togetherness brings unity in our world causing less confusion and counter alienation. Fanmily traditions are what keep the world in a family stable and under control.
Family traditions counter alienation and confusion. They help us define who we are; they provide something steady, reliable and safe in a confusing world.
its like represent what kind of person you are. every family have different tradition like my mom work with Jews they have different tradition like in October they celebrate new year. that's strange for persons who is not Jew's like in other countries or states does not celebrate thanksgiving. like my family celebrates the day of the death"El dia de los muertos" in Spanish. it represent you and your family, some tradition are strange but its important that you celebrate those traditions with your family.
my family never got alienated we all help each other out this one kid in my block got alienated by is own friends. they all hated him for like 2 weeks because he didnt do something that they wanted him to do.
well like i dont understand this nut like i know like alienation is like someone hates you becuase u r not doing the same thing as them supposedly, thats what i heard
abriellesome tradutions dont need to be followed because they dont make any sence. some traditions can brake a family apart. say if one of them didnt want to follow the tradition, the family might not want to except them anymore.they stop talking to each other and over what, a stupid tradition that the family felt was important. i know that if my family had a stupid tradition that i didnt agree with i wouldnt follow it because why would i follow somthing that i dont agree with. i was taught to do what i know is right and if its wrong then i have no choice but to say no

i think it means like when your parents tell u that when you go to their country they do their things in a diferent way and if u do it in your way the people might think your crazy or something
not even i know what family is like bcuze my family doesn't get along and i never really grew up with a dad bcuze he waz in jail 4 5 years and so yea.... :(
I don't really understand what this quote means but I guess it means that families have certain ways of doing things.

For ex: You may sag your pants in public, but when you go to your grandparents house you would want to pull your pants up.

i agree our traditions says who we are. our traditions make us different from other people.
I dont understand this quote

I guess this is a quote and it's kind of true.I partially agree with this quote because if somone has their own family tradition they won't just easily accept a new one. Some people disrespect other people's tradition just because they don't know it. But traditions like a family reunion and thanksgiving get- together everybody will like it.

i agree with this quote because family traditions are the counter to alienataion and confusion.when you have a tradition you have a periodic meeting or gathering. this prevents people from losing contact with people far away. traditions also help stop confusion by having everyone know where people are going. yearly you will countinue to go to one place and everyone knows it.since a tradition is something we do and what we do define who we are then are traditions make up who we are.this way familys are together during certain days of the year like holidays.

I agree with this quote because I felt this way before. When ever I go to Mexico for thanksgiving i feel left out because they have a different way in celebrating. Even though wew are family we do not have the same traditions.

Every one has there own way of doing something and its good to know your families way.

i agree with this quote they do help us define who we are because there are many types of traditions that each family has and that makes each family unique. i also agree with this quote because because a family does make you feel saafe in this world that we are in. and because your family is always there for you. and
there are some family members that dont want to keep on following there family traditions but they are still a family.
I agree with this quote because when i go to Mexico there tradition are different. Things we do hear they dont know what is it. Also tradition help poeple to gather and stay in touch in a family. Traditions usualy happen through the same time of year every year. Thanks to this tradition are pretty steady.

ok so this kind of confuses me but since every else said yes ill say yes too =)!

I don't quite agree with this because I think this quote is more confusing than the world might be. I don't get this quote very well, how does our family traditions define us...and what if you can't rely on whatever that safe thing that is being provided.?
family traditions are very important to who you are and who you are as a person?! when ever you need to defin who you are as a family backround and your pack you can look at the many things yur family celeberates and stuff and like the food!
I AGREE WITH THE QUOTE BECAUSE OUR TRADITIONS SHOW WHO WE ARE. THEY ALSO MAKE US WHO WE ARE.
I think all families have traditions, like birthdays and thanksgiving. people who don't have traditions aren't close, and probably don't love each other.
ok i guess this is right because nothing can separate family because there will always be something that will bring u back together

I THINK THAT I AGREE TO THIS QUOTE AND DISAGREE BECAUSE SOME TRADITIONS CAN BE BAD THEY JUST HAVE IT BECAUSE IT BEEN IN THERE FAMILY FOR A LONG TIME. SOME OF THEM ARE GOOD LIKE EVERY YEAR YOU HAVE A FAMILY GET 2GETHER LIKE THAT BUT YEAHA TRADITIONS DO SHOW HOW U ARE BECAUSE IF YOU HAVE A BAD TRADITION THATS HOW YOU ARE BAD BECAUSE YOU MUST LIKE DOING IT IF YOU DIDNT STOP IT.

I agree with this quote because your family raisees you and are always there to guide you. While at young age they can guide you in the wrong direction( gangs drugs, etc) or they can lead you the right way. Either way it has a big impact on your future.Your family can choose to be there for you mmor make you an independent individual.

I sayy this is true because there are some things that can separate people. if you do something just because someone else is doing it, that'll make them want to stop doing what they do. ok i get this quote now!
lol well umm..
So its helpfull by bringing poeple close together for at least a short period of time.
ruddy tell me bout the one thing....
They help us define who we are; they provide something steady, reliable and safe in a confusing world.i agree wit this quote because some of my family members dont celebrate traditions because they dont believe in some of the tradition.
ahhhhh i dont know... this is confusing!!!!!

Thats how I see it.

who is the guy?
They help us define who we are; they provide something steady, reliable and safe in a confusing world.
its like represent what kind of person you are. every family have different tradition like my mom work with Jews they have different tradition like in October they celebrate new year. that's strange for persons who is not Jew's like in other countries or states does not celebrate thanksgiving. like my family celebrates the day of the death"El dia de los muertos" in Spanish. it represent you and your family, some tradition are strange but its important that you celebrate those traditions with your family.

abriellesome tradutions dont need to be followed because they dont make any sence. some traditions can brake a family apart. say if one of them didnt want to follow the tradition, the family might not want to except them anymore.they stop talking to each other and over what, a stupid tradition that the family felt was important. i know that if my family had a stupid tradition that i didnt agree with i wouldnt follow it because why would i follow somthing that i dont agree with. i was taught to do what i know is right and if its wrong then i have no choice but to say no

i think it means like when your parents tell u that when you go to their country they do their things in a diferent way and if u do it in your way the people might think your crazy or something
if u r then dont, if u rnt then yes
not even i know what family is like bcuze my family doesn't get along and i never really grew up with a dad bcuze he waz in jail 4 5 years and so yea.... :(
I don't really understand what this quote means but I guess it means that families have certain ways of doing things.
