Have you found a trend while researching your current events? For example does most news tend to be positive or negative? Why do you think this trend occurs?

most news tends to be negative ofcourse. thats what attracts the people the most. you really think that people are going to turn on their tv to watch something positive...DUH!!!!!!!
Ive found out that the news and articles I have read are mostly bad news. I dont know why they occur it just does. Or sometimes stupid people create these crisis for others. The most tragic news so far that I have heard of is about iraq and them.

I HAVE REALLY OBSERVED THAT ALL NEWS TEND TO NEGATIVE NEWS. NEWS ARE NOT NEWS IF THEY ARE POSITIVE. YEAH AS OTHER PEOPLE SAID PEOPLE DONT TURN ON TO SEE GOOD NEWS.!!
Most of the news that I have read and gotten information out of are bad news or just not-so-good news. Either it can be from suing a person, killing or shooting someone, bad consequences that affect the U.S and many more bad news.It's rare when you are able to hear good news about something or someone, like a brave person was awrded or a cure was found for a virus or similar things. For what I believe there are more bad news than good news. I think there are more bad news posted because it attract the attention to the reader.
Yes, there is a trend for current events. Most current events and news articles are almost always negative. Most of them are negative because people are more interested in bad things going on in the world. If all the current events were good people would not be interested in watching TV or reading the newspaper because it wont be interesting.
MOST OF THE NEWS THAT I RESEARCHED WAS NEGATIVE. I THINK THAT THIS TREND OCCURS BECAUSE POSITIVE NEWS IS NOT USUALLY EXCITING. fOR EXAMPLE IF A FAMILY WHO THOUGHT THAT THERE CHILD WAS DEAD, BUT LATER FOUND HER ABANDONED SOMEWHERE FAR AWAY. IS EXCITING, BUT NOT AS EXCITING AS A MAN WHO "RAPED" A DOG. < HEHE
I KIND OF AGREE TO WHAT VERONICA SAID, THAT MOST OF THE NEWS STORIES TEND TO HAVE A NEGATIVE ATTITUDE. FOR EXAMPLE, THERE IS A WHOLE NEW HURRICANE HEADING TOWARDS THE U.S., HURRICANE PAUL, AND PEOPLE ARE SAYING THAT ITS GOING TO HAVE THE SAME DAMAGE AS KATRINA.
I think some of the trends be negative because they just trying to catch the public's eye really to be honest right now most of the trends is about celebs or something and most people dont really pay attention to things thats going on outside of they state.
I say yes because this is a crazy world. We have so many criminals here. The war is going on and there is a lot of people dying. People are just evil theses days.
MOST NEWS ARTICLE I HAVE DONE TURN OUT TO BE NEGATIVE TOWARD THE UNITED STATES. THEY MOSTLY INVOLVE IRAQ AND THE UNITED STATES. THE OTHER ARTICLE WAS POSITIVE. IT WAS ABOUT THE LAUSD HIRING A NEW PERSON TO THE LAUSD.
most current events tend to negative things because most news reporters are not going to waist their time to reasrch on good things people like to hear the bad things so they will know how to act on it

Almost some of the news is negative, and some people get attractive to that sometimes. like this is a crazy world sometimes, There's alot of people being killed in iraq and other places in the world.
i say that some news say positive things that are true and some say negative things that are not true. but i choose negative news because it has more attraction,action,and things that happened in the world like gang banging. thats one negative thing that they use to get peoples attention.
when im doing my current events most of then are negative because i mean i llove reading about things that are negative beacuse if their positive then their not going to be intersting...come on now...well yeah this is why i think news tends that i read are almost all negative....intersting and fun to read or watch.....=)
I think that most news happen to be negative because that's what cathes peoples atention, if they were to report things such as oh little timmy got An A in the state wide science fair people would'nt evne watch the news the news is aqlways about bad things and gossip.
most things on the news is negative because they try to actract an audience to get more ratings or better ratings. and plus most of the stuff on the news deals with violence or tragic events.
Most of the news that I found was mostly neagative but the reason for that is beacuse they might just want us to know the news. But they always give people negative views on the areas that we live in. They never really show the postive things about any place just the bad things that happen. They might make you seem like you are a bad person just because of were you come from.
well i really havent noticed because i just choose what ever article but now that i think about the articles that i have done my current events on they all negative. i think this happens because the world that we live in is just getting bad and i think who ever post this things in the internet puts this things so that can know what is going around the world also i think to get peoples attention
I have noticed a trend throughout all the events and it really isn't good. Many of the events are good but somehow people try there best to get something negative about it. Most news are mostly negative because i think people are more interested on hearing the negative things about it. This trend occurs because because there is so many bad stuff going on the world then good stuff so its most likely that you here more negative stuff then good news. This also occurs because the news always tries to get all the negative stuff first and if they have time for good news they will put it on the news for like less then ten seconds. I also think most people care about the negative events more because then they can take precautions.
Most news are negative with the same trend like someone steeling or killing frequently. This is what the news mainly talks about I guess its sword of like an alert so that you can be aware of everything happening. why does this happen frequently we don't know but the pattern on the news is ussualy steeling and killing. I guess this has to do with gangs that are around just to see what is new to steel or they are just looking who to hate on to kill.
i think that there is no change in the news and i think that all the news in papers are false(negative)because all they want to do is attract an audience an with audience there is more people to buy the paper. and in a way it is true(positive) because there are alot of child molestors and rapist.also because in the world there is a lot of non sense.

`im not sure if bad or good news for some.its like in the middle or so,yeeaaahhhim kinda not sure what i wanna ride about its like something really confusing cuz you have to pick something important and well easy to understand. so yeah im kinda confunsed and unsure right now...

To me most of the news is bad. The reason why its bad is b/c theres never really anything good to talk about. Say if in the paper (in the sports section)if they have a winning team theres always talking about someone losing to. So basically the news i found on the iraqi was bad and was about the treats that they have been making

I did find a trend while researching my current event. Most of the news is negative. its either someone was murdered,there was a riot, people want to end something, or some other negative stuff. Thats why i dont read the newspaper. I want to start my day as a postive calm morning. Not with the headline on a newspaper that says that someone has been killed in a riot. People like when stuffhappens because they nosy. So if on the paper it says that it was a appy day for people, they are not gonna wanna hear it cause it doesnt have to do with killing or a robbery or some other stuff ,lke that. Well thats bout it buh bye ♥

I THINK EVERYTIME YOU TURN ON THE NEWS IT ALWAYS SEEMS TO BE NEGATIVE. AND ITS ALMOST ABOUT THE SAME THING TOO. ITS ALWAYS ABOUT SOMEONE GETTING SHOT OR SOMETHING BAD IN ANOTHER COUNTRY HAPPENING.SO YEAH TO ME I RATHER NOT WATCH THE NEWS CAUSE ITS BORRING AND THERES NEVER ANYTHING GOOD HAPPENING SO I RATHER NOT WATCH IT .

i think that most news does have a negative thing because what i was looking at was that there was a delay in the construction site ground zero.also there was a fire that caused five deaths. so most of the time the news is negative. also there was a gun fight at a party.
Yes you see that most news on a news channel is bad but ofcourse there some news that are good also there is alot of news about war in iraq going on and alot of death of are soldiers. Judging from all of that the world is not a safe place anymore with all the killing and trouble people cause.

The most news trends are negative like 9/11,Katrina,and Iraq they just like to keep reminding people that things like those happened and will always be remembered and stuff news are always negative
The current events that i listed were all about negative things like for example the one about the latinos being evicted from theyre homes just because they weren't they weren't u.s citizens thats negative

Some of the news was good and some was bad, But most of it was good for once.
Most news are going to be bad but some of them are going to be good... n thatz how the world is and some day some thing bad could happen or something good will happen....itz all about life and how it workz....
Well theres mostly were negative stuff!and yea there were some posotive but not so much there mostly negative news beacuase people want to know wats going on in the world like bad stuff!
Most news tend to be negative cause they are informing us what going on in the world and only negative things happen that affect us. yeah and if they do show positive things it probably something they are trying to sell, or new things they came up wit, or either some dumb stuff like a cat was recued from drowning...what is that we don't need to know! News trend to be mostley negative because if people are worried about it they watch tv more and that program gets mo ratings also if a certain program have mostly positive news people will watch it more often and they will get even more rating than the other programs who have negative things.

ALSO,IN THE PROCESS OF MY RESEARCH, I REALIZED THAT THEIRS SO MANY THINGS THAT PEOPLE CAN DO 2 FIX IT AND MAKE IT POSITIVE BUT THEIRS OTHER PEOPLE WHO ARE AGAINST IT AND THAT ARE MORE POWERFUL AND ITS WHAT THEY DICIDE AND PEOPLE CANT DO NOTHING ABOUT IT BUT 2 DEAL WITH IT.LAST BUT NOT LEAST, I THINK MOST OF THE NEWS ARE ALWAYS NEGATIVE, BECAUSE THOSE ARE THE MOST IMPORTANT ONCE AND WHAT PPL WANT 2 READ ABOUT.
well most of the news i saw during my current event reaserch is that it is mostly negative news, there is always violence and destruction and chaos.....there is a few interesting good news like health facts or like new inventions on the world or facts that help you conserve your enviornment.......i think people really want to get informed about the bad things going on in the world because they want to be aware on the things going on to be more cautious and safe.........

well when i was doing my current event some of my events were very interesting. and most of the trends are negative like the one i did about myspace. it was about how people meet people and they want tod go them in another state and that is bad because u never know whats going to happen. u never know if that person is a criminal or what but ofcourse most of the trends are negative. like when u turn on the tv in every news your always going to something negative that happened........... DUH!!!!!! LOL

So far everything i've read has been Negative with the capital "N"
cuz there is a lot of good news out there but it doesn't make the news as much as murders, suicides, robberies, fights, accidents, natural disasters, teenagers taking guns to school and threatening everybody, and famous people who died. i gess its what grabs ppls attention the most the bad news i guess thats the reason the news was made to report bad stuff. ppl always want to see whats going on in the world and mostly what is going on in the world is bad war, child labor, terrorist and stuff like that. a stupid kid takes a gun to skool and people are making a big deal on the news for days but someone donates money or clothes to charity and no body cares somebody donates blood or a kidney and nobody cares ofcourse unless it came from a famous person did it now they are heroes well you know what BS.

As I was searching for my current events assignment I found no new trend. Most of the news that I had found were negative. The reason I found all of the news that I found negative was because the news I found one was about a young girl who was killed about her own father the other was about the discovery of remains from the victims of September 11, 2001. I think that this trend occurs because there is too much violence in the world and I think that this is awful.

I think that seeing all tehses diffferent news i have found out that there is more bad stuff happening in our world like enviremental struggles and alot of stuff happening in our naturte mostly .
I think that while doing the current events I have found many trends because all the new are always positive a nd negative. There will never be a day where all the news will be good or only bad. I'm really enjoying doing these current events because I am finding out more about what is going on in life and what is affecting our communities and other communities, states, and cities around us!

yes i have found a trend while researching my current events. so far all of my current events tend no be negative. the reason that this may occur is because things go from bad to worse and do not go any better.i think that its not that people go on doing bad things so that people can be interested in news or anything, i guess things just happen like i said things go from bad to worse.People are interested in bad news because they get shocked by all the things that are happening now.Good news also interest people becuase technology gets advanced each day but i guess people just like to listen and see bad news better
Most of the news turn out to be negative as always.I dont think that people like to see a cat rescued from a tree.They like to see Crimes that people have commited.Like someone Fleeing from police.Or Someone Robbing A Store...Unless that person watching tv is like wierd or something and likes seeing a near car accident.when most people like car accidents..I dont know why people like car accidents so much.....Its like everytime someone hears the tires of a car screaming....they get all excited and wait for the boom.....but when the boom does happen..everyones like outside all around the cars that crashed.When you come out....like all the neighbors come out.This doesnt have anything to do with the quote but i just wanted to do it because i was bored and theres not much to do.

Most of the news i found tends to be negative. The reason why is because the news brings the attention to people and when it brings the attention to them the news then turns out to be a fraud. So the news wants to make something negative so people will believe it for a long time
